“Knowing others is wisdom, knowing yourself is enlightenment.”Lao Tzu

There is something special about those people. They defy gravity, at least “social gravity”. They are not like everybody else, they are totally different. How do they do that? What force lifts them above the rest of us - ordinary schmucks that are crawling along our miserable life path scared of our own shadows, scared of life, scared of trying something new, something different? Do we all have that talent of controlling our life’s destiny but most of us just scared stiff to use that power? Well, about that book.

I don’t remember why I’ve bought it. I usually do not buy them brand new, not in Canada. It is a luxury I cannot afford - a brand new book. But something in this funny rather complicated title “The experience of a fool, key to enlightenment, and how to get rid of your glasses” and the name of its author, I heard about him before, something vague familiar – Mirzakarim Norbekov. I bought it, though cringed inside about the unnecessary spending. I took it home, and before going to bed I opened it to get familiar with the author, and to read a couple of pages. I never stopped reading until I finished it some hours later in the middle of the night.

It was the enlightenment I needed. This book was written in Russian, and I cannot recommend it for you to read in English, as I am sure, it is absolutely impossible to translate into foreign language the text that is full of local-isms and colloquialisms, and colourful idioms from sad realities of soviet life, and what not. These things cannot not be translated easily into a different language unless you are a genius (the coyote genius , I mean). And I do not want you to be disappointed, because this book is not a manual how to treat an eye disease, it’s not a motivational diary/speech, it’s not some psychic’s revelations, or collection of anecdotes colourful like a Russian doll – matryoshka.Well, it is like that and it is nothing like that at the same time. It was a revelation indeed. As if somebody suddenly said, “Stop, you are moving into wrong direction, there is a better way of doing things.” Mirzakarim Norbekov is one of those people, he is capable of changing his life and others. It’s a great talent, - not many of us can do that naturally.

He was born in Uzbekistan (a part of the former Soviet Union). He was sent to the Russian Army for obligatory military service after school, was severely beaten there up to the point that his kidneys gave up on him, and was left to die under doctors’ supervision. Dying was not in his plans, so he did not die, he completely cured himself and did a lot more. He studied ancient sufi (you can read about this here if you follow that link) medicine and philosophy, created or “improved” the effective ancient system of self-healing, became black belt in Karate and more.

He was not like Tony Robins, he did not do motivational speeches per se. He created “The institute of Self-Recovery of Man” in Russia. He became a member of many International Academies. He has degree in medicine and psychology. And the most amazing thing that he managed all that under Soviet Union’s roof - that alone means something – that means he is not a quack, though from the point of view of conventional wisdom... but who cares about conventional wisdom? Results speak louder than words.

He teaches how to be the master of yourself, how to overcome your fears, laziness, self-doubts, how to self-heal without doctors and medications (drugs) any disease. Think about it, ANY DISEASE that plagues your body! How to be happy and achieve your dreams at any age, how to live a long and prosperous life, because the prosperity is not just about money - money is never enough, but we can be rich with lots of other things – material or not. he actually insults you by saying rude and awakening words in this book I am telling you about. But sometimes the sad truth is necessary to stop us from selfdestruction, from harmful rutine in our life.

I never took his courses, or studied his philosophy. But that book of his showed me clearly the path I should follow. It showed me that I can be happy and healthy and not depressed and not totally sick at any age that I do not have to have fear in my life. That my entire destiny is in my own hands, and that nobody else can do it for me better than I can. It helped me to lose my fear of many things. I realized that I just have to believe in myself and just live my life the way I want, no matter how hard it might be sometimes. And as long as you are still alive – there is no such thing as too late.

If you are curious about this person you can find his courses, they are known and sold in Europe and in US, Canada, Israel. As I’ve mentioned already – do not read this book of his in English, I saw it in Amazon, but I am sure the essence is lost in translation. As far as I know, he has close to 100% success in cure of diseases that are considered incurable by contemporary medicine. And you can get rid of your glasses too without drugs or operation, if it’s really that important to you.

And the most amazing thing is not that he cures you, – you cure yourself, and he teaches you how to do that without drugs or medication. And THAT is amazing!

I know, I know, it sounds like pure quackery from rational, educated, civilized point of view of contemporary society. And you know what I think? All our contemporary medicine is pure quackery; because it’s not drugs or potions or prayers to god or natural supplements that cure your diseases, but your belief into their power that does that! If your power and belief are strong enough, you can just drink a glass of clean water every day and be cured. And the rest of our medicine is just a… yea, you already know that.
